Yes, we do know the gender of the baby, but we are opting to keep it a secret from everyone else until May. Although, the nursery will soon get gender specific once the baby arrives, we decided that it just made more sense to go with a neutral color palette, so we can reuse baby gear in the future. We’re painting the walls yellow and the print that we got at IKEA has both blue and pink in it.
We confirmed the fact that this is one very wiggly baby. You’ll notice in the ultrasound pics below that we have a zillion (only a few of which I posted here) pictures of the baby’s head, but very few of the whole body. The ultrasound tech had a very hard time measuring the legs because the baby wouldn’t be still.
We also learned that this baby will also very likely be born a little early and on the small side because of the type of umbilical cord. It’s not a defect, but just means that I won’t be allowed to go past my due date and that we’ll likely have more ultrasounds so they can better track the baby’s size.
Sorry, I didn’t get these ultrasound pictures up sooner. Our scanning software decided to crash and then I got sick. The upside is that after I reinstalled and updated the photo software, now you get the pictures in movie format, complete with labels and Christmas carols. Enjoy!
