If you read this blog through a reader, you probably haven’t noticed any change, but yesterday, it was too cold to leave the house and I was too sick to do stuff around the house, so I recoded the blog for Christmas. Unlike the last set of blog changes, these were all cosmetic. Now that I’ve gotten fairly good at writing CSS code and I’ve found a wonderful background creator (BGpatterns, if you’re interested), I’m thinking that the blog may change colors seasonally. The templates for baby blogs that I’ve found so far are all gender specific or duck themed.*
I also added a poll where you can vote on whether you think the baby is a boy or a girl. I’ll probably change the question from time to time, but for now, you can guess the gender. And finally, you may have noticed that the blog plays random Christmas carols now as well. This is also a result of sub-0 windchills, snow and ice. If you want to turn it off, just hit the pause button.
*Ducks and chicks seem to be the default gender neutral themes for baby stuff. I personally have nothing against either ducks or chicks, but since we have already begun to collect ducks and chicks in the name of keeping the gender a secret, I’d rather not have them cover the blog as well.
