This baby clearly did not get the memo about reading calendars. Besides the fact that he/she insists on measuring 2-3 weeks ahead, the baby also insisted on starting the arrival process several weeks too early. Over the weekend I started having contractions. They weren’t very strong or very regular, but then I started having a lot of pressure too. So today I went to the doctor. I spent about 45 minutes on the fetal monitor, and yep, I was having contractions. They weren’t very strong, but they were about 4-6 minutes apart. So, I’m back on the couch and off work until at least Thursday. Luckily, I haven’t started to dilate, so they aren’t super concerned, but they did put me on medication to try and stop the contractions. If the meds work, then I should be able to go back to work on Friday and hopefully finish out the semester. At 32 1/2 weeks, we’re past the true danger zone in terms of premature labor. Now we’re just counting down to 36 weeks (May 3rd)
