Al Capone Learns to Type and Other New Skills

I’ve been quite busy learning lots of new things while we were in Arkansas last week. One of my most impressive accomplishments, however, was talking Daddy into creating a Google Account for me so I can post on the blog. Unfortunately, blogging isn’t listed on any of the milestone charts, but I’ve been working on regular baby skills too.

I really like mirrors and windows. I like to follow objects in the mirror, and I really like when I can see light and dark movement in the mirror or window (like the sun through trees). There was another baby in our hotel room that I kept trying to play with, but I couldn’t quite figure out where he was.

I love to play with my hands and feet. Mommy bought me some foot rattles, but my feet were too big, so she had to take them back and get the wrist rattles. They aren’t quite as much fun, but no matter how hard I play, they don’t go away like regular toys.
I also discovered that I have toys and when I grab them, they make noise. Unfortunately, sometimes I play with them too hard and then I can’t reach them anymore. I’m working on a solution to this problem though. I’ve mastered rolling from my belly to my back and I’m working on the other direction.
You can see me roll in the video below. I’ve gotten much faster since this was made. I was really tired that day because every time I rolled over, someone would flip me over and make me do it again. Everyone would get so excited every time I rolled over, but I was really ready for a nap after all that hard work.
I can hold my head up quite well. Yesterday I spent about 30 minutes doing mini push-ups and looking around the living room. Sometimes I hold my head up so well that when other people hold me and they forget that I’m still really little and they need to support my head and neck.
I can also smile. I generally like to do this in the middle of the night when Mommy gets up to feed me, so there aren’t good pictures of this skill yet.
I don’t know how often I’ll get to post on the blog because Mommy and Daddy are pretty insistent that I’m not allowed to watch television, but since they have been busy unpacking from our trip and cleaning the house for our visitors, I’ve snuck in some computer time. I wonder how old I have to be to get a Facebook account?
