Baby Roomba

Nearly a year ago to the day, we ripped out all of our carpet and put in bamboo flooring.  I love it.  The carpet was cheap and nasty and impossible to keep clean, and after 5 minutes with a broom, the new floor could look like new.

A few weeks after we got the floor, Capone arrived.  I was still in love with the floor and can’t imagine what our carpet would have looked like now.  That said with a nearly 11 month old who is quite the independent, but messy eater, even if I sweep 5x a day my floor still has a fine coating of mashed bananas, stray cheerios, dust bunnies, etc.  Today I invested in Baby Roomba.

Unlike a iRobot 560 Roomba Vacuuming Robot which is quite expensive, my Baby Roomba required only

  • a handful of large empty Easter Eggs
  • 1 size 24 months fleece pajamas
  • 1 pacifier (suggested but not required)
  • 1 crawling/scooting/slithering baby (sold separately)

On the job...

My Baby Roomba specializes in hard to reach places like under the entertainment center, the edges of the couch, and other corners.

I activated my Baby Roomba by sending an empty Easter Egg across the floor.  Baby Roomba chased the egg using his fleece pjs to clean the floor as he went.  When/if Baby Roomba gets stuck, simply send the Easter Egg in a different direction.

While not required, my Baby Roomba sometimes requires the use of a pacifier because he often prefers to eat the dust bunnies he finds.

After floor has been sufficiently swept (or Baby Roomba gets bored), use a handheld vac to remove lingering dust bunnies from pjs or simply change clothes.

My Baby Roomba prefers to be paid in Goldfish or Cheerios.

Baby Roomba is not currently available in stores.
