Al Capone’s Birthday Bash: Children’s Book Giveaway

We read A LOT of children’s books in our house.  I recently blogged about some of Capone’s favorite books and this is your chance to win three of them.

Capone's Bedtime Book

We read Bear Snore On, every. single. night. Rakicy and I can both recite the words to this book from memory. I’d always assumed that Goodnight Moon or something similar would be our “going to bed book” but in our house “but his friends snore on…” means it’s time to go to sleep.

Capone's Favorite Interactive Book

We received Matthew Van Fleet’s Tails as a gift when Capone was born and it recently became one of his favorite books.  It is designed for a slightly older child and includes a counting game at the back, but it has lots of different textures that Capone likes.  He seems to gravitate toward the furry/fuzzy tails and the sparkly peacock tail, but he is fascinated by the moving parts and would listen to this book be read over and over again.

Capone's Favorite Alphabet Book

Zoe and Her Zebra is a Barefoot Book that my friend Savannah sells.  I love all of our Barefoot Books, but Capone is obsessed with this book.  He’s obviously too small to understand the alphabet, but he read this book to himself on our trip to Chicago last weekend.  He laughs at nearly every page. The illustrations are craft creations and feature really vibrant fabrics.  I love this book because it features children of different cultural backgrounds, but it’s not about diversity.

It took me a long time to narrow this down to three, but the winner of this giveaway gets all three books (a $30 value).

How to win it:

  • Check out Capone’s Reading list in the sidebar and tell me which book from that list is your favorite (1 entry)
  • Follow me on Twitter and tweet about this giveaway 1 time (make sure you include (@dontpatthebelly) and then leave me a comment telling me that you did.

Good Luck!

  3. Oh my goodness, the Sheep in the Jeep book looks awesome. But honestly, as I’ve never read it, The Lorax is my favorite from the whole selection. I love The Lorax. Charlotte loves listening to me read it too, which is huge because usually Dr. Seuss books don’t interest her much – I think because I don’t have any in board book form? Maybe?

I’m bowing out of this particular giveaway, but I’ll be entering another one!

I love your list of books. We adore anything Boynton, and we also like Sheep in a Jeep. Have you read Sheep in a Shop?

I’m trying to think of something to send Capone for his birthday, but I don’t want to give you any doubles of books you already have…. hmm…
