Happy Birthday Al Capone!!!

Happy Birthday

Capone is 1!  This last year has gone by so fast.

This time last year, Capone was a tiny baby and now he’s on the verge of walking.  A few comparisons…

At birth Capone was 8 lbs 2 oz and 21 inches and he is now about 24 lbs and 31 inches.

At birth Capone nursed 10-12 times a day, today he breastfeeds 2-3 times and eats regular meals as well.

At birth he woke up 3 (or more) times a night and now he sleeps 12 hour stretches most nights

At birth, he was swimming in 0-3 month clothing and now wears a 2T.

A few other facts.  At 1 year old…

• Capone crawls, pulls up, cruises, stands, and is on the verge of walking.
• He signs a lot (all done, bye, milk, more, down) and is talking more every day (Dada, Nana, Papa, fis (goldfish), this (tell me what this is or I want this)
  • He can say MaMa, but insists on calling me DaDa
• He takes 2 naps (1 hour in the morning and 2 in the afternoon).
• He goes to bed around 7-7:30 and generally stays in his bed until 5ish or sometimes later. He gets up around 7 am.
• He does not like to be rocked, but loves to be bounced.  We bounce on a yoga ball every night at bedtime.
• He loves books.  He reads to himself at home and we read to him every day.
• He eats nearly everything we put in front of him.  Some of his favorite foods are Greek yogurt, cheese, flax bread, green beans, baked chicken, mango, and blueberries.
• He feeds himself and only drinks out of sippy cups.
• He plays with and eats with the big kids at daycare.
• He can get out his own toys and pick out what he wants to play with.  We’re working on putting them back away.
• He’s always on the move, but he’s still really cuddly as well.
• He waits by the backdoor every evening and watches for Rakicy to come home.
• He’s been in 100% cloth diapers since last summer and his collection is constantly expanding to add fun colors and prints.
• He finally owns some pants, but still wears mostly overalls.
